Inspiration for my work comes from my close connection with nature, particularly the environs with which I am familiar: the land, sea, and sky. What I see in reality generates ideas that surpass the real and grow into images that are imbued with exaggeration and motion to visually recreate the emotion felt from the observational experience. I feel that something extraordinary may be discovered from the ordinary and take on iconic significance. In their complexity I intend my images to go beyond mundane representation and reveal the essence of my ideas.

 

My roots as a printmaker are reflected in the layering and multiple-imagery of my work. As in the printmaking process, each image evolves through a series of stages. It was during my graduate study that I became fascinated with the digital medium, one that allows plasticity for the development of my ideas.
