I create various scale oil paintings and works on paper in hyper-real colors depicting images indebted to the dance or the moving body.
The choreographed figurative compositions range from abstract to literal, though consistently addressing the formal problems of Painting and Drawing. Her images celebrate groupings, solos, gatherings, entanglements and entrapments. These interests and visual wanderings spring from source material such as expressionistic figurative painting, modern dance, dance theatre, landscape architecture, environmental sanctuaries and modern psychology involving transitional phenomenon and the transitional object.
I received art training at Bard College in Annandale-on-the-Hudson NY, and a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2002.
