ARTIST STATEMENT
I am a multidisciplinary artist working at the intersection of abstraction and photography. My mixed-media pieces draw from jazz improvisation, coastal landscapes, and the geometric rhythms of city life. My work is often lens-based, and then I blend images to create new patterns, textures, and colors for expression and often paint into them either on my iPad of with acrylic paint. I look for the poetry in the visual, and my work often interprets relatable moments through color and design. A past art teacher, web designer, and graphic designer, I have also owned my own clothing design and self-publishing companies. I have exhibited my artwork locally, nationally, and internationally. and have pubished two novels and two photo books.
