Who We Are

GALATEA FINE ART is a large, contemporary, non-profit, cooperative art gallery located in the heart of Boston’s SoWa neighborhood in the South End. SoWa is the most sought-after art community in Boston and is a lively and supportive group of galleries and studios. Our members include a wide variety of painters, sculptors, photographers and mixed media artists and are both established and emerging. We have been reviewed in ArtScope, Art New England, the Boston Globe, The Improper Bostonian, Boston Magazine and more.

As an artists’ cooperative, we are mobilizing the diverse energies and skills of our member artists to deepen and expand our marketing and promotion strategies and to enrich our exhibitions program. As we share the critical role of gallery sitting, we are, in fact the ones who show and sell each others’ artworks. That mutual commitment to support each others’ artistic paths is at the heart of the co-op. As members, we share in the camaraderie and meaningful connections of working together with other artists.
